Why World Events Leading to the Day of the Lord Excite Me

The Spirit of the Lord's power will be fully released in the Messiah's kingdom after the Day of the Lord.

While that thought is a good reminder to enjoy sitting in the presence of the Lord now, the book of Joel reminds us that after the Day of the Lord, "You will be satisfied in full." (2:19) "Whoever calls on the name of the LORD will be delivered." (2:32)

Fatigue, aging, and toil will be gone and nothing will hinder, thwart, or grieve the Holy Spirit, whose fullness of presence brings lightness of spirit rather than heaviness of soul.

Warring, fighting, and battling evil, discouragement, fear, and despair will be over. While our victory was won at the cross, the fulfillment of our heart's desire to be fully, forever in the unhindered presence of the healing Holy Spirit will occur after the Day of the Lord.

As Christians, our hearts are now burdened for the lost, as we are tasked to share the Gospel in light of the Day of the Lord. Even that burden will be removed after the Day of the Lord.

My heart yearns for my homeland in Heaven, but I know my tasks on earth are not over, including my duty to pray, "Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed by Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven." Yes, Lord, return for your millennial reign! Maranatha! Hosanna!
